In short

You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name.
Most of what a launcher touches (your apps, contacts, calendar and notifications) is used on your phone and not sent to us.
We use Google Firebase to find crashes and see which features are used.
Some free apps show ads. Ad companies use your phone's advertising ID, which you can reset or turn off.
The AI assistants in Jarvis and Orbit send what you ask to Google's Gemini to get an answer.
We don't sell your personal information.

1. Who we are

This policy is from App Mania Software Development ("App Mania", "we", "us"), the publisher of these Android apps on Google Play, in their free and Prime or Pro editions: Orbit Launcher, Jarvis Launcher, Opus Launcher, Bureau Launcher, Y2K Launcher, Square Launcher, Computer Launcher, OS Style Launcher 26, Ace Smart Launcher and Neo Launcher Hyperion. It also covers this website, theappmania.com.

2. What we collect and why

2.1 What you send us

Support emails. Your email address and whatever you write, so we can answer you.
Questions to an AI assistant. See section 4.

2.2 App usage and crash reports

Our apps use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. They record which screens and features are used, crashes and errors, your device model, Android version, language, approximate region, an app-instance identifier and, where your settings allow it, your advertising ID. We use this to fix bugs and decide what to improve. Some apps also use Firebase Cloud Messaging to receive notifications from us, which needs a device token, and Firebase Remote Config to receive settings.

2.3 When an app loads content from our servers

Wallpapers, themes, news and other content come from our servers at theappmania.com and sanatanwallpapers.com, hosted by DigitalOcean, with data stored in MongoDB Atlas and Google Firebase. Like any web server, they see your IP address and basic request details. Our web server logs are deleted after 14 days.

2.4 Purchases

Google Play handles all payments; we never see your card or bank details. Google sends us the order ID, product, price, region, purchase time and status. We keep these to confirm purchases, handle refunds and keep business records, and we receive a notification of each purchase (product, price, order ID and region) through Telegram. Paid editions also tell our server the app version, your country and which store the app was installed from, so we can detect copies installed outside Google Play.

2.5 What stays on your phone

A launcher needs access to parts of your phone to work. Apart from the exceptions in sections 3 and 4, the following is used only on your phone and is not sent to us. Each app asks only for what its features need (see section 13), and you can refuse or remove any permission in Android settings.

Your installed apps, to show, sort, search, lock and hide them.
App usage access, to show recent and most-used apps.
Notification access, for unread counts, notification previews and music controls. We don't read, store or send the content of your notifications.
Contacts, to search and call people from the home screen.
Calendar, for upcoming-event widgets.
Microphone, for voice commands. Speech is turned into text by your phone's speech-recognition service, under that provider's own terms.
Physical activity (Bureau), for the step-count widget.
Phone state, Bluetooth and camera, for status icons, quick toggles and the flashlight.
Fingerprint or face unlock, for app lock. Android checks your biometrics; we never receive them.
Photos and files you choose, for wallpapers and icons.

2.6 Accessibility service

Some of our launchers offer an optional Accessibility service that you turn on yourself in Android settings. It only performs actions you ask for, such as locking the screen with a double tap, taking a screenshot, going back or opening the notification panel. It is not used to read your screen or what you type, and nothing it handles is sent to us. Bureau Launcher doesn't use one. You can switch it off at any time in Android settings.

3. Location, weather, search and news

Weather. If you allow location access, the app sends your location to a weather service to get your local forecast: WeatherAPI.com, OpenWeatherMap or Open-Meteo, depending on the app. To show a place name it may also use OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. You can deny location access and choose a city where the app allows it.
Location from your IP address. Some apps estimate your city from your IP address, using ipapi.co, ipinfo.io, ip-api.com, ipwhois.app or geolocation-db.com, to show weather or local news without asking for location access.
Web search. When you search the web from the launcher, what you type goes to the search engine you use (such as Google, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo or Wikipedia), under that company's privacy policy. Apps that show suggestions while you type send your typing to that provider; in Bureau you can turn suggestions off.
News. News comes from our server and from publishers' feeds (such as Google News, Yahoo News and the BBC), which see your IP address when the feed loads.

4. AI assistants (Jarvis and Orbit)

When you ask the assistant something, your request goes to our cloud function on Google Firebase, which asks Google's Gemini model for an answer.

Orbit sends the message you typed or said.
Jarvis sends your message, the last few messages of the conversation, your chosen language, whether you use the Prime edition, and the names of your installed apps, so it can open apps for you.

We don't store your conversations on our servers. Google processes requests under the Gemini API terms. Don't include passwords or other sensitive details in your questions.

5. Advertising

Computer Launcher, Ace Smart Launcher, OS Style Launcher 26, Neo Launcher Hyperion and Square Launcher can show ads. They use Google AdMob, and Neo Launcher Hyperion also uses Meta Audience Network. AdMob can pass ad requests to other ad networks; the full list of authorised sellers is in our app-ads.txt file.

To show ads, measure them and limit fraud, ad companies receive your advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, approximate location and how you interact with ads. Ads may be personalised based on this.

To limit this, open Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads), then delete or reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads. Learn how Google uses information from apps in Google's partner-sites page. Some apps also show promotions for our own apps; these don't use your personal information.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only as described in this policy:

Google: Firebase (analytics, crash reports, notifications, settings, cloud functions), Gemini, Google Play and AdMob.
Meta: Audience Network, in Neo Launcher Hyperion.
The ad networks AdMob works with, in apps that show ads.
Weather, location, search and news services in section 3, when you use those features.
Companies that run our infrastructure: DigitalOcean (servers and file storage), MongoDB Atlas (database) and Telegram (purchase notifications to us).
Authorities, if the law requires it.
A new owner, if App Mania or its apps are sold or merged; this policy would continue to apply to your information.

We don't sell your personal information. Under some laws, such as California's, letting ad companies use your advertising ID for targeted ads counts as "sharing". You can opt out by resetting or deleting your advertising ID as described in section 5, or by emailing us.

7. Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar laws)

We use your information to run the features you choose (performance of our agreement with you); to keep the apps working, secure and improving (our legitimate interests); for ads in the free apps, with your consent where the law requires it; and for purchases and records (contract and legal obligations).

8. How long we keep it

Web server logs: 14 days.
Purchase records: for as long as needed to confirm purchases, handle refunds and meet tax and accounting rules.
Support emails: for as long as needed to help you.
Firebase analytics and crash data: for the retention period set in Firebase, after which Google deletes it.
AI assistant requests: not stored by us.

9. Your choices and rights

Allow or refuse any permission in Android settings. Features that need a refused permission won't work, but the rest of the app will.
Reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads (section 5).
Uninstalling an app stops all collection by that app.

Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK, California or India), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict its use, withdraw consent, and complain to your data-protection authority. Email help.appmania@gmail.com and we'll reply within 30 days. Because there are no accounts, tell us something that lets us find your information, such as a Google Play order ID or the email address you wrote to us from. We can't link analytics or ad data to you by name.

10. Children

Our apps are not made for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

11. Security and international transfers

Data between the apps and our servers is encrypted in transit, and access to our servers and databases is restricted. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information. Our servers and service providers may be in countries other than yours; where the law requires, we rely on their safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

12. This website

theappmania.com uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Our server logs IP addresses for 14 days, fonts load from Google Fonts (so Google sees your IP address), and your light or dark theme choice is saved in your own browser. The admin dashboard sets a sign-in cookie only for our administrators.

14. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we'll also tell you in the apps.
